For dedicated practitioners who wish to become certified coaches in Bharatiya Kshatriya Vidya — the Bharatiye warrior arts — and to carry that living tradition forward.
Three phases, in order — build your foundation, train to teach, then practise and give back. The ₹30,000 fee covers Phases 2 and 3.
Phase 1 · Prerequisite
6 monthsSix months of Angad foundational training — relaxable to four months if you're already practising. This grounds you in the form before you ever teach.
Phase 2 · Teachers training
1 monthThe one-month teacher-training program — three modules, hands-on mentoring, assessment and certification.
💰 Covered by the ₹30,000 fee
Phase 3 · Practise & give back
2 monthsTwo months of Satyabhama (Bhama) sessions and hands-on volunteer work — advancing your own practice while serving the akhara and the wider tradition.
💰 Covered by the ₹30,000 fee
Phase 1 · Prerequisite
One requirement before the teachers training:
Phase 2 — the one-month teachers training, across three modules — from the roots of the tradition to standing in front of your own students.
Level 1 of 6
The path doesn't end here. From Level 2 onward you go deeper into warrior arts and intermediate-to-advanced Bharatiye fitness — including mallakhamb — so a coach keeps climbing long after the first certificate.
Phase 3 · 2 months
The back half of the program. Over two months you keep advancing your own practice and you serve — because a coach who only takes will stagnate.
Intermediate and advanced practice and workshops — so you keep growing as fast as the students you'll soon teach.
Serve the akhara and the wider tradition:
🔄 And every year after: your certificate stays valid one year and renews as you keep showing up — roughly 30 hours of practice, workshops and seva. It keeps every coach growing, connected to the akhara, and never stagnant.
One Fee · Phases 2 & 3
International · ≈ $1,100
Covers all three months — the one-month teachers training, then two months of practice and seva.
Paid once you're accepted, never just to apply. The Angad foundation (Phase 1) is the prerequisite and isn't part of this fee.
Everything below is included in that one fee:
All three modules, with hands-on mentoring from your coaches
Certified in the Tamizhar Kalai Puducherry lineage
Advanced Bhama sessions plus hands-on volunteer work
Everything you need to learn and to teach
On completion you receive the credential Certified Instructor — Bharatiya Kshatriya Vidya / Warrior Arts, eligible to assist and lead classes, run beginner programs, support school initiatives, and represent the Gurukulam at demonstrations and events.
Certification is the beginning, not the end. Three ways forward — all rooted in seva.
Co-teach and lead Karla Kutuhal batches under the lineage, earning a share of the batches you run as the akhara grows.
Keep advancing year after year — intermediate and advanced sessions, workshops, and belt upgrades in the lineage. The path deepens; you never stagnate.
Open an affiliated branch of your own — a closely connected sister centre that carries the Karla Kutuhal lineage to a new place, backed by the parampara rather than standing alone.
