Natural Bamboo • Authentic Karra-samu seasoning and traditional designs with no paint/varnished

Product Details

Karra-samu natural bamboo Silambam Kambu or Bana Karra as it is called in their origin place of Andhra Pradesh. These come with authentic traditional seasoning and no extra paint or vanish. The traditional artisans also add their signature traditional overlay styles on the sticks. Authentic seasoning of the bamboo make it strong and provides better impact resistance and longevity. The sticks can be heavy and hard making these ideal for light strength-endurance training and real world sparring. Kambu or long staff is the central weapon in the Silambam arts around the Tamil region and many other similar arts across Bharat such as Karra-Samu in Andhra Pradesh, Lathi-khel of Bengal, Paiki-Akhara of Odisha, Donne varasai of Karnataka. While in recent years Rattan Cane is more preferred in some regions like Tamil-Nadu, Bamboo was the preferred choice in ancient days even in these regions. Bamboo Karra-samu Bana Karra when compared to Rattan (Perambu) is less flexible, hard and heavy which makes them especially suitable if the aim is to practice heavier Ayudhs later or for strength endurance training.
